Habitat: The plant is indigenous to India , and is cultivated in West Indies, China, Japan, Africa, East India, and United States .
Useful in: It is nutritive, demulcent and has got emollient properties. It is used in the preparation of liniments, plasters, ointments, and soaps, similar to olive oil.
